I used to be super fat. No kidding. I was 1.70 meters and weighed around 100kg.I loved to play soccer but was always very anxious when playing a game. Would I have to take off my shirt? I was really insecure and felt ashamed of my body. But I never made losing weight and living a healthier life a serious priority.
Until I had an accident when I was 18. I was playing with fireworks and they exploded in my hands. Honestly? I should have died that day. But I got extremely lucky and only lost two fingers. It kinda felt like I was given a second chance. That’s where my mindset shifted. I wanted to prove to myself that I was able to do whatever I set my mind to. I picked up running and ran a marathon 2,5 years later. I lost a lot of weight. Way more than I ever thought I was capable of. But losing weight isn’t always equal to being your healthiest self. I was tired all the time, my hips and my back hurt. So I switched from running to weight training to put on some muscle. And that’s how the passion started. 

I am seriously considering turning that passion into a profession. I like working 1 on 1 with people. To try and understand their issues, help them reflect and come to a solution together. I really like the coaching aspect of it all. Is it a mental coach? A physical coach? I don’t know yet. But I’m really eager to start helping people get healthier. To show them anything is possible if they work for it. I experienced it myself. I lost 30kg’s in three years, because I wanted to. And I know that’s not super fast but being ‘super fast’ is not the way I want to approach things.
I see the bigger picture of what I want to achieve. I want to be as healthy as possible for my entire life. I want to play with my grandchildren. I don’t want to be dependent on others when I’m 70 and need groceries. That is my vision and my purpose.
The message I always want to pass to people is that I’m not gonna offer a magic pill or help them become super strong super fast or very skinny in no-time. I want them to enjoy the journey, think long term and be healthy forever. “
